Ear Infection Treatments

Yesterday one of my kids came down with a mild ear infection. It has been so long since one of my kids has had an ear infection that I really can't remember the last time one of them had one.

Here are the two treatments that I tried that worked...

The first involves putting lightly warmed coconut oil into the ear canal. Here are the directions from Dr. Mercola.

The second involves putting salt into a sock. Here are the directions.

My child found the sock treatment to be a little helpful, but I don't think it was on the ear for long enough.

The coconut oil was only somewhat immediately effective, but it was done at bedtime and they slept all night without pain.

By morning the ear pain was totally gone, and without antibiotics!
