Sausage and Peppers, 4 Ingredients for an Easy Dinner

Back in college I couldn't cook anything.

I burned grilled cheese sandwiches every time I cooked them, and set off the smoke alarm on a frequent and regular basis.

Some how in the mist of all the food burning I stumbled upon something great, and I didn't mess it up because it was easy, really easy, to make.

Today I'm sharing my super easy recipe with you.  No matter what your cooking skills you probably can't mess this up.  It's quick, it's easy, and it's relatively cheap.

Sausage and Peppers

1 lb. of sausage meat of your choice, sliced
2 sliced up sweet bell peppers (preferably organic)
1 medium onion sliced (ideally organic)
1/2 a bottle of Italian salad dressing

Pour a little olive oil into a large skillet. Cook the onions on medium heat for about 2 minutes.

Add the sliced peppers and sausage to the pan and continue to cook until the onions and vegetables are soft, and the sausage is heated through and fully cooked. (Most sausage comes fully cooked so you'll likely just need to heat it.)

When the sausage and vegetables are cooked pour the salad dressing over them and cook for about 1-2 more minutes.

Serve warm over rice or noodles.  Enjoy!

If the sausage you're buying comes from a farm where the animals could roam outdoors and were fed properly, then the meat will contain good vitamins and nutrients in it. Try to find a local farmer to buy from. The next best choice is a health food store, or Trader Joe's where they only buy cage free meat.

I like trying different kinds of sausage because the flavor of the dish changes so much with each flavor variety. Spicy sausage is very tasty with this, but I mostly go for milder flavors for my kids' sake.  Either way it's really good!

Time Saving Tip: Some store, like Trader Joe's, sell peppers and onions already sliced up together, found in the freezer section.
