All Natural Eye Makeup Remover

Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil
If I had to be trapped on an island with just one food item coconut oil would be a great choice.

Aside from being one of the most amazing food products I've ever found, it also has some amazing benefits for the outside of our bodies.  In this case as an all natural eye makeup remover!

The coconut oil gently removes all traces of eye makeup, while conditioning the lashes, and leaves no chemical residue in your eyes.

Coconut oil is a white solid at temperatures below 76 degrees, and is completely clear like water liquid at temperatures above 76 degrees.  It can go back and forth between these states without any harm to the oil.

As an eye makeup remover you can use it one of two easy ways.  You can either keep a small jar of the oil in your bathroom and use a cotton pad or soft cloth to take off the makeup, or you can make these fantastically easy, makeup removing pads!

Here's how to make these super simple makeup removers in only 5 minutes!

Eye Makeup Remover

2 Tbls. Coconut oil
12 Cotton pads
Wax or parchment paper

To Make:

  • Melt 2 Tbls. of coconut oil in a small pan over low heat.
About to go in the fridge..
  • When the coconut oil is completely clear, and cool enough to touch, then quickly dip half of a cotton pad into the oil, then quickly dip the other side into the oil making sure it's the same half of the pad.  This leaves the other half of the pad dry and without coconut oil in it.
  • Place the pad on the wax or parchment paper and place in the refrigerator to cool.  In a few minutes the pads are done and ready for use!
  • You can store the pads at room temperature, however if your room temperature is above 76 degrees you may want to store them in the refrigerator.

My tired face.  LOL
The makeups off!  :)
To Use:

  • To use the pads simply hold one gently against your eye for a few seconds until it warms up and releases the oil.
  • Using the oil side of the pad gently wipe the eye area several times until the make-up has been removed.
  • Then using the oil free half of the pad gently wipe away any excess oil.

Isn't that super simple?!  I like to keep mine in a little mason jar, but any jar would work.

Enjoy knowing you've made another choice that lets your body be healthier and happier!  :)
