My Healing Journey week 2

My counter after I put the groceries away.  ;)
I'm two weeks into my new healing raw food diet. It's been getting easier and harder at the same time.

My attitude has hugely improved, and so has my energy level!  I've got a noticeably larger amount of daily energy which kicked in after only about a week into the diet.

I should also note that I started taking fermented cod liver oil again, which can also help with energy levels.  It's a fantastic supplement for vitamin D (very needed especially during winter), as well as vitamin A and omega 3.

The hardest part has been trying to have the mental energy and motivation to make dinner for my family, while also trying to come up with something besides a salad for myself to eat.

To keep from losing my mind, and hating life, I'm allowing myself a very small amount of other foods each day.  I'm trying to keep that at only 5-10% of what I'm eating, but some days temptation is getting a higher percentage in there.

I really miss meat more than anything else.  The sweet juiciness of a steak or burger, the flavor of a roasted chicken or sauteed shrimp.  All hard to give up, but I've got my eyes on the prize and my healed thyroid will be worth it.

As I mentioned in my last post I'm also taking a specialized herbal regiment to thoroughly detox and heal my body.  So far only one bottle of herbs has arrived and I've got about 5 or so more on the way.

Not looking forward to taking all those pills everyday, but again eyes on the prize.  Other people who've done this had part of their thyroid cut off, and have had it grow back.

Two newer practices I've added to my get healthy regiment are castor oil packs (which I'll try to do a post on soon), and drinking raw apple cider vinegar mixed with water and real raw honey.  It's very important that the vinegar be raw to be effective.  This mixture helps to alkalize the body, which many holistic practitioners see as necessary in healing the body.
My typical breakfast smoothies has a banana, organic
frozen blueberries, strawberries, spinach, coconut water
or regular water, chia seeds, and coconut oil.

I haven't made any progress on getting to bed earlier, but that's a really hard one since I've been a night owl for as long as I can remember.  I've made a little progress on exercising, but definitely room for more.

Over all things are going well.  I'm really enjoying my new level of energy, and I think my mind is clearer too.
