"Fast Food" Kids Will Love

Enjoy whipping up these healthy "Fast Food" recipes that both kids, and adults, will love!

Tortilla Pizzas  (cost about $6)

These easy pizzas are melt in your mouth delicious!  They are fun and easy to make.  Make them for yourself, or let the kids pitch in and have fun making them too!

Black Bean Bowls  (cost about $4-5)

1 Bag Dried Black Beans
Shredded Cheddar
Diced Tomatoes
Sour Cream
Tortilla Chips

Soak the beans the night before.  About 2 hours before dinner drain and rinse the beans.  Add 4 cups of water and desired amount of salt, then cook on a very low heat for 1 1/2-2 hours, or until tender.  If you can't be home 2 hours before, try cooking them on low in a crock pot for about 8 hours.  Let the kids have
fun loading their own toppings on! 
Serves 6 (with beans left over) 

Macaronni and Cheese  (cost- about $5)

If you ask my kids what their favorite food is mac and cheese is always a the top of the list.  This meal is super easy to make, as it's all done in one bowl, and tastes delicious!

For larger families, or those who like left overs, this is a great meal to make.  It feeds our family of 5, with left overs.

We just LOVE your Tortilla Pizza recipe! Such a fabulous (and tasty) idea! It sure beats firing up the oven on a hot summer night. We use coconut oil instead of butter. We've made dozens of these we like them so much. I found that if you smear the pizza sauce on the tortilla before you put it in the pan, it's quite a bit easier. The pizzas are really tasty with organic shaved lunch meat on top too (I put it on after the pizza sauce but before the cheese). Thanks for the "fast food" recipe!
